“Lee & Hank, Easter Sunday” by an unknown photographer (1920s–1940s) – it captures an intimate loving moment between two men at a time when such relationships were taboo, and probably illegal.

I love this historically significant photograph.

It’s a rare window into the secret history of gay love.

I think it’s the 1920s-1940s from the style of clothes, car model in the background, and hair styles

I think this photo was a private momento for the two boys.

I only wish we could tell them how brave they were. It takes courage to be honest with oneself.

Love that even in black and white, their joy is in full color. History’s quiet rebels, just being themselves.

    3. Probably illegal? I dont know where this photo was taken, but homosexuality would be certainly illegal wherever it is and the only question is how severe the punishment.
