Social safety nets are so important bc they help (or are supposed to) people not fall behind. Why others want to put people down for having a hard life is beyond me, but I guess when your entire personality is “I wasn’t that broke” you have to do anything to feel like a big person

Imagine thinking getting assistance makes you inferior somehow.

My biggest flex is utilizing SNAP and other assistance when I needed the help so that I could focus on being a good parent and not stressing 24/7 about food and childcare while I worked. Because of that help my son is a kind, generous, brilliant and hard working citizen who doesn’t judge others for doing what they need to do to move forward

Why are we even taking taxes if we aren’t going to feed kids? I can’t think of a single religion where it’s okay to leave nearby kids starving.
