I’m surprised the news isn’t all over this

Mainstream media really protects this guy

    2. “Uh, I, state your name, do solemnly pledge allegiance to Donald Trump, with liberty and fraternity for some.”

    3. Admirable-Title9022 on

He wasn’t introducing himself as “state your name”. He was reading a pledge that others were supposed to recite.

Like when a pastor is Marrying a couple. “I, state your name, do solemnly swear…”

There’s way too much to make fun of him for. Let’s not be as dumb as magnet man.

    4. Amusing, but false. He was administering the oath of enlistment, and this is the correct way to do it. Why he was doing it at a football game, I don’t know. That seems stupid to me.

    5. That’s not what happened. He was reading a swearing in oath of some sort. He wasn’t introducing himself.

    6. He was (barely) reading the oath of service for an enlistment ceremony during halftime at the game, it’s odd that a 5 time draft dodger would have the gall to do so… but hey.

The oath that he took to execute laws passed by congress and defend the constitution that he took when taking office though? He has completely forgotten it.

That being said, oaths like this are actually a rather sacred thing and this joke is in bad taste if you didn’t know. (However much you dislike the cowardly toolbag.)

I don’t like the guy, but he was reading the oath for joining the military that they do say state your name to the people enlisting,

    8. I’m going to join the chorus of people disproving this caption. It’s literally just the oath of enlistment and he read it as written and appropriately. It’s read this way whether for a single individual being enlisted or reenlisted or for multiple people. In this case, it was multiple people.

There’s room to criticize him for not memorizing it, but that is too much to ask of someone like this.

Source: former army major, 21 years service enlisted and officer.

    9. Yeah as dumb as he is he can still read. It’s how the oath of enlistment reads for the person in his position. He does plenty of stupid shit.

    10. He was swearing people in and told them to state their names. C’mon y’all, this type of falsehood is the game of MAGA and we are definitely better than that.

    11. Downvote this shit. There are plenty of reasons to hate Trump beyond op not understanding context.

    12. Booooo. Don’t give them easy fodder to toss back at the left. That ain’t helping the cause.

    13. We don’t need to post fake shit to make fun of this guy. This is completely misleading and he did it the right way. I hate the man, and there is a world of things to put him down for. But

    14. This is the type of stuff which makes our side sound stupid. As others have said, he was leading an oath, where everyone states their name. The bigger story was the booing.
