Doing it by CMA has a lot of flaws. In a lot of cases there are cities on this list that are actually v dense, but the surrounding area lumped in with them is v sparse. Even when thinking about Toronto’s density, it seems weird for Georgina to factor into that

I think the Ottawa density/area scores are wrong, given the municipal boundaries.

What is ‘the heartland’. This has never been a term used by Canadians to describe Ontario and Quebec.

How’s Hamilton even part of Toronto? If you’re considering only cities, Mississauga and Brampton are bigger than most cities on the list.
I realize calling us Eastern Canada annoys the Atlantic provinces and calling us Central Canada annoys the Prairies, but I’ve never heard Ontario and Québec called “Heartland” before. I don’t like it. Sounds American.
