“A woman wanted by the FBI for orchestrating a $4.5bn cryptocurrency scam called OneCoin has been hit with a global asset freeze, brought on behalf of investors seeking compensation.

Ruja Ignatova, known as the Missing Cryptoqueen, is now subject to a global freezing order which prevents her assets from being sold or moved.

Ms Ignatova has not been seen since she stepped off a Ryanair flight in Athens, Greece, more than six years ago.
In June, the BBC revealed her links to the Bulgarian underworld and a man widely suspected to be an organised crime boss who was involved in her disappearance.

So far, OneCoin investors’ attempts to get significant compensation for their losses have failed, much like the search for Ms Ignatova. US authorities are currently offering a $5m (£4m) reward for information leading to her arrest.”

She’s probably the only one since Satoshi who’s managed to stay hidden for this long.

    3. My understanding is she was mixed up with eastern European gangsters, had access to a massive amount of money, and has been missing for years. She’s almost certainly dead.

    4. She could sit next to you and you would probably not recognise her since she most likely did plastic surgery on her face. Just a smaller nose would change the appearance of somebody dramatically who had a bigger nose before. Eyelid surgery, iris implants, liposuction and buccal fat removal and a new hair colour. After all that even hair mom would have trouble recognising her.

    5. I highly doubt she’s still alive, considering some of the acquaintances involved in her story.

Crazy. I was contacted by someone on the inside of OneCoin in 2015 to design the coins branding. After a tiny bit of research, I quickly declined, and haven’t really though about them since.

    7. Wouldn’t it be more economical to start with crypto scammers at hom… oh, i see. They’re presidents and major policy advisors in the US.

Forget about it – was a premature idea.

    8. Crypto is a scam so why don’t they arrest everyone? They’re acting as if some crypto is legitimate when none of it is.

    9. There’s a whole podcast series on this by the BBC. She’s almost certainly been bumped off by the gangsters funding her to avoid her squealing to the Feds.

Imagine getting scammed by someone who looks like this 🤣. That face alone would make me grab my purse and run. Btw I’m a man 😁
