    1. Based on what I’ve been reading, it doesn’t seem like leadership are the ones who are caving. I imagine there are a lot of rank-and-file Dem senators being pressured to cave by their constituents—particularly in Virginia, Maryland, and Nevada who are hurt disproportionately by government shutdowns.

    2. At the time of posting, it is unclear which Dem senators are voting with republicans.

      Jeanne Shaheen (202) 224-2841

      Gary Peters (202) 224-6221

      Jon Ossoff 202-224-3521

      Mark Kelly (202) 224-2235

      Peter Welch 202-224-4242

      Tammy Baldwin (202) 224-5653

      Elissa Slotkin 202-224-4822

      John Fetterman (202) 224-4254

      Catherine Cortez Masto (202) 224-3542

      Angus King (202) 224-5344

These are the suspected senators, that I have found so far.

    3. Dude — it’s a “*promise*” to have a talk about ACA in December. Which they fucking will not make good on. Republicans are the worst and these weak kneed, spineless democrats who are caving need to get the fuck out of the way

Seriously call. Don’t just upvote. Call.

Make sure to work in the phrase “limp dick” when voicing your opinion.

Supposedly this was started by MAGAt operatives to freak people out. By all means call, but it may not be real.

    6. Premiums have already gone up. Even at insurance through my office. Open enrollment has already ended showing new year premiums and it’s wack

    7. Whats crazy is: the Republicans probably wont even reinstate SNAP.   Schumer will cave and still not get what he wants. Art of the Deal or something I guess

I called. Not sure if it can be stopped but going through this shutdown just for a promise of a vote is worthless and spineless.

    9. Saying ‘but they said there would be a vote!’ over and over for the foreseeable future is not going to make you look better for caving.

Listen, the Republicans were ready to starve 40 million people PLUS the 4.5 million federal workers including the military who haven’t had a paycheck since September and who would also be facing starvation and homelessness if this drug on for much longer. The banks were on the verge of failure and the system on the verge of collapse because of the missing money and the damage to the economy.

People can’t afford to not be paid for months or not eat for months. Those are basic SURVIVAL NEEDS that must be solved NOW. Food banks were never going to feed all those people. They don’t have the resources.

Millions of people needed this shut down to end to survive. Reopening the government was the right call for the most harm reduction possible even if you didn’t get what you want. Because the Rs don’t care. They would happily starve those folks and watch them suffer. They would happily crash the banks, cause a great depression, and destroy the economy. And they would never give anyone health care. So all those people would starve for nothing.

The Democrats had ONLY bad options. They had ONLY starvation or healthcare being unaffordable. That was it. Healthcare being fixed was never on the table. Period. The Republicans don’t play by the same rules. They don’t care about the welfare of humanity.

The amount of harm that the shut down was causing people was going to be far greater than the amount of harm losing the ACA is going to cause people.

Yes it’s going to fucking suck and a lot of people are going to be hurt. Alot of people are going to be unable to get coverage or medications. Some people may die. But it’s probably going to be less people than the other way around.

Republicans have shown themselves for who they are and hopefully the voters don’t forget.

    11. Republicans will just fucking blame democrats for the rise in healthcare premiums if they give in anyway, so what’s the fucking point?

      Giving in helps no one.

Oh look, it’s Senator Rubber Stamp, the human embodiment of “whatever they want!”

That man makes Neville Chamberlain look like an MMA fighter. Wanker
