The Victory Relief of Shapur has been brought to life in a 10-meter statue unveiled at Iran’s largest square, the first monument to a king since the Revolution. It commemorates the Persian king’s triumph over Rome in 260 AD, when Emperor Valerian knelt before Shapur and begged for peace. [1792×667]
