Most cities are in northern India.

The cause? Some northern agriculture centric states have farmers choose to burn stubble despite repeated government measures. The pollution caused by the stubble is carried by wind to most cities in northern India( especially Delhi). The Himalayas also ensure that the pollution doesn’t escape out of India, effectively making many Indian cities and states a gas coffin.

Some states have reduced it, but others haven’t acted upon it yet.

I mean, where else do you think FUNKO incinerates the trash they don’t sell you?

    6. I visited India in 2019, nothing highlights this pollution more than landing in Delhi airport and seeing the smog inside the terminal before you even get outside.

For all the people who jump on the “India bad” bandwagon:
It is a global problem. Yes, we can do better, but, this is a complex problem, that involves ground realities and geographical conditions. We do much better than any of the so called ‘first-world’ countries in per capita emissions. So stop acting holier than thou. See the level of pollution these developed countries did when they were developing. Again, I agree, we need to improve, but don’t be racist and don’t say we deserve this.

I’ve only been going the last 10 years and pre and post covid has been insane for pollution levels. Truly distressing

That is irrelevant, they provide cheap labour for the west and that’s what matters.
