India doesn’t even use hardened safety glass/layered glass?

Windshields that shatter like this are forbidden since like the 80s here

I’ve smacked a pigeon on the freeway and that sucker just bounced off at freeway speed. Just left a smudge

    3. Glazier here. All I can say is wow, that is really fucked up using regular annealed glass in of all things a train widescreen. Usually when someone cheaps out and doesn’t use the right material it’s on something homemade, not a high dollar big ticket item like a locomotive. Makes me wonder if everything in India is made like this, or did someone pull a fast one and substitute annealed glass. Granted it is cheaper, but it is also more readily available and easier and faster to work with and once it’s installed you can’t tell the difference. Well, until an eagle flys into it anyway.

    4. I once hit an owl with my train & I absolutely shit it. So loud and sudden.
One of us made an extremely girlish squealing noise but I’m not sure which 🤭

    5. Considering the dude had an eagle *and* a glass window flying in his face, a single (somewhat photogenic, nicely symmetrical) cut along the nose ridge seems like a fortunate outcome. If it leaves a scar that will look cool as hell.
