    1. There was an independent TV station that would play some of these cool old shows during the summer when I was a kid in the 80’s. Gidget, The Monkees, Gilligan’s Island…

I still remember the theme song to all of them.

      Gidget

I don’t like hollywood but she always struck me as genuine. And sweet and charming and beautiful!

    3. One of the local radio stations where I live played the theme song to “Gidget” this morning. When I heard it, my first thought was “Don’t you dare tell me that she’s dead” because I remember them playing “Ring of Fire” when they announced that Johnny Cash had died. This is a huge relief to learn that it’s her birthday today.

    4. There’s something about this photo that makes me think it isn’t 1965. Her hairstyle doesn’t look right for the time, but then again she’s at the beach and might go with something simple if she’s planning on swimming.

It’s probably a promotional shot. Dunno.

I see why you posted it. Today is her 79th birthday! Actually watched Smokey and the Bandit last night for the millionth time. Maybe they were showing it cuz of the birthday?
