St.Vincent DePaul and Catholic Charities offer assistance regardless of your religion and they don’t proselytize.
I found one video of her calling a Catholic Church and while the woman she speaks with doesn’t refer her to those services(it may be too small of a town to have them) she tells her to come down there and she’ll buy her a can of formula herself if they can’t figure out where she can get one donated.

I once saw the yearly budget for a large Baptist church and the head Minister’s Car allowance was more then they earmarked for Charitable works.

“The board’s policy” because profit is what all these churches are about. Especially in the Bible Belt.

Ahh, I love that part in the bible when Jesus said, *”Don’t give to the poor unless the board members at your church have a policy allowing it.”*
However, they’re happy to take a handout *from* the poor, who have precious little to give. Those fancy Sunday suits the pastor wears ain’t gonna buy themselves!

Well to be fair if everyone could just call churches and ask for money they wouldn’t be able to run at all. They are community funded

Obviously this is a church by church basis and not very surprising, but I’m also confident that the Mormon church in the small town I grew up in would find someone to help if asked (they also had a donation storage for things families might need).
I’m also fairly confident that if you contacted a mosque they would help, but that’s solely based on reading about how welcoming they are to strangers and people in need.

The mosque only asked two questions. Do you live nearby and what type of formula do you need? But the media will never show you that!

I bet their brokerage account, if liquidated, could feed a lot of babies.
But Jesus doesn’t like that.

This is why the church folk want the welfare state torn down. They want to be the arbiters of who gets help, and it is limited to “members of the church.”

Churches, synagogues, mosques, temples, etc.in the US are all just tax dodging businesses that operate like multi-level marketing (MLM) schemes. The people at the top live in relative luxury but it is never claimed as their own for tax purposes.
The preacher doesn’t drive their own Cadillac, they drive “God’s Cadillac”, they don’t live in their own mansion, they live in “God’s Mansion”, and they don’t fly around in their own private jet, they fly around in “God’s private jet”. And you can safely bet that anyone who dares to question them on it will be labeled as being under the influence of “the devil” to discredit them among the gullible followers in the congregation.
While there are a few people sprinkled around that genuinely try to do good for the people around them and just don’t know how to connect with people in need outside of the framework of religion, these well wishing but misguided souls are in the minority. The rest are all about the tax free money, lavish lifestyle, and political power that comes from running a religious institution.
This woman is just highlighting the disconnect from their marketing and their true nature.

I mean to be fair, this is only one church in Kentucky. Here in central Florida, there are many churches that will help, whether you’re a member of their church or not. If it’s financial assistance, you may have to submit an application or documentation, but otherwise there’s generally no requirements aside from a need for it.

Churches are a business and you’re the product. They don’t care about you, they care about your donation. If you can’t help them, they’re not looking to “help” you.

One church is not all churches. Truth be told, almost all churches has a fund for emergencies for people inside and out. Sometimes its at zero and there is no cash, especially smaller churches.
But from my personal experience, it’s usually the church who host and runs the food pantries in the area.
That being said, any church who has a pastor with a jet, or even makes more than a reasonable salary is problem in our culture. One that needs to die off.

Jesus in the Temple stuff called for here. Sad but all true. I recall starting to go to church and wasn’t given a warm welcome to me or my family. We were outsiders. Then one day near the rear benches were we sat we watched an old man at the front with several others taking communion. He was wobbly and looked like he was going to fall over. I got to the front fast and caught him just before his head would have smashed on the stone floor before anyone got off their arse or made any attempt to save him. Full church. No fucker even got up. Fuck this. Last time we went. If you ain’t practicing what you preach there’s no point you going to church. That’s just called hypocrisy and delusion.

I wonder how much of this is just her speaking to a volunteer or maybe a low paid admin who doesn’t really know enough to think outside of the box. Just thinking of corporate jobs I’ve had- young low level employees just went by the book. I always had a big mouth and an ask forgiveness not permission attitude (for better or worse lol!) & I’m not a church person but if someone called or came to my place of employment asking for baby formula I’d probably take her info, go ask whoever i needed to or found a food pantry or whatever and called her back. But I’d find a way .
I understand why she’s doing these videos and it’s a good real life example of what a young mother might run into. But I also wonder what would happen if she asked to speak with the pastor (or priest, or whatever). And I HOPE someone in that role would say I’ll figure something out for you, and do it.

They should go to a Sikh temple. Those guys don’t fool around. Not only does the kid get fed, but they make sure both parents leave with a full belly.
Also, they absolutely don’t give a fuck about what religion you practice or who you voted for in an election.
Seriously: Sikhs are cool like that. Any Sikh temple in the US will give the same hospitality.
