    1. The Icelandic horse, this remarkable little one from the icy lands, not only survives the cutting winds of Iceland but also parades around with a way of walking worthy of a catwalk.

Not unique, the mongolian horses tölt too. Thats one reason of their military success of creating the biggest empire in the world. What did icelandic horse achieve?

That horse isn’t walking it’s gliding like it’s got Bluetooth hooves and a Spotify playlist. Pure elegance.

It’s not just our horses that will give you a smooth ride

      Wink wink, nudge nudge.

As someone who knows nothing about horses, isn’t it possible to simply teach other horses to do the same?

    6. “In 2012, a DNA study found that horses from several gaited and harness racing breeds carried a mutation on the gene DMRT3, which controls the spinal neurological circuits related to limb movement and motion. In 2014, that mutation was found to originate in a single ancestor to all gaited horses.”

The breed’s name is derived from the Icelandic for ‘Tom Cruise running across a rooftop’.

    8. Does this count as running or walking? I remember hearing that for an actual run, there has to be a point in the gait where all the legs leave the ground.

I just want to point out that like most redditors, I too, don’t know a fucking thing that I’m talking about.

As someone who has experienced this gait on two occasions, I will strenuously disagree with the supposed “comfort” and “smoothness”! Felt like riding a fast jackhammer.

    11. Paso fino horses have a similar gait, and as part of judging in competitions, they are trotted across a wooden walking board to amplify the sound.

    12. >offers an incredibly smooth ride.

Does the interior come with leather seats and paddle shifters? What’s the warranty on these things?

    13. The march is not unique to that breed.

It’s just that not many horses get trained to walk like that.
