I don’t think this is the sole reason, but the U.S. Census cites Boomers as least educated among all generations. Misinformation is being propagated in ways that are unprecedented. An older, uneducated brain, simply can’t keep up. And in some cases they appear to revel in the fantasies that misinformation provides.
