    1. > On March 18, 2003, two Danish activists threw red paint at Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen and Foreign Minister Per Stig Møller at Christiansborg Palace (the Danish Parliament) to protest Denmark’s role in the Iraq War. Lars Grenaa threw paint at Rasmussen while shouting “You have blood on your hands,” symbolically representing the blood of war victims, and was immediately arrested by parliamentary security. The activists had gained access as guests but acted without authorization, leading to prison sentences of 3-4 months for assault on public officials.

“Inspired” by today’s events of the Mexican PM being harassed on the street, I dug up this this photo because I think it’s an iconic photo in Danish media and political “culture” that is relevant to today’s headline from Mexico.

The photo is still referenced to this date over 20 years later. The photo itself, even without context, speaks a story on its own. The PM’s facial expression, the open-mouthed press in the background, and the pose of him with the bright red paint. I don’t know if it won any press photo awards, but it’s a hell of a photo.
