    1. Off year elections are great indicators. Marches are great indicators. There is a year left until the next election cycle. If this is what happens in a year, imagine what can happen in the next.

I am utterly shocked he knew anything about it? But how? He is so busy not running the House for 2 freaking months!

    3. Well, in his defense, the largest number of voters are in blue Northern virginia, not the rural south.

You know, the doctors, scientists, engineers, conservationists and analysts that DOGE fired and the remaining federal workers who are not being paid thanks to the GOP.

VA is purple in general, but it was definitely the blue cities of the north which led this flip.

But I am surprised he heard about election results. From recent interviews I got the impression that Johnson isn’t one to keep up to date on current events.

    4. Translation: Daddy doesn’t want to hear the truth, so I still have to come out here and flog myself.

    5. GOP talking heads…

When Democrats win “off-cycle” elections: No one should read too much into that.

When Republicans win “off-cycle” elections: WE HAVE A MANDATE FROM THE PEOPLE!!!

“Look I didn’t see any of this, I haven’t heard about it. I’m finding out just now that apparently some sort of elections were held yesterday. I’ve just been too busy trying to end this radical Democrat-led shutdown and prevent them from continuing to ruin this country.”

    7. So blue cities have so many more people that when they vote they always win? How come all elections don’t work like that then???

And wouldn’t that tell you maybe you should concentrate more on the “blue cities” than the “red land” that has four random occupants at any given time? No? Shame.

    8. I’m surprised that he DID know something about this? I mean, he’s unaware of everything else.

    9. I’m glad they are sticking their heads in the sand. Yes Mike. All is good. No blue waves are coming in a year.

    10. The GOP isn’t wasting time and money and potentially exposing their vote manipulation tricks during off-year elections. Fixed the headline for you

Weird how a blue state had a Republican governor and now will have a Dem one. Nothing to see there. Fucking clown. I cannot wait to never hear from this douchebag ever again.

    12. I’m kinda ok with them being completely unwilling to learn anything from this.

Like the smart thing to do would be to say “oh hey, they exceeded expectations, maybe it’s time to adjust course.”

The Mike Johnson thing to say would be “I don’t know anything about that”…but “We’re going to keep doing the same things that helped them exceed expectations” works too.

    13. I mean we shouldn’t put too much into it, cause then voter apathy will return. We need to stay angry and vigilant, 2026 is truly the most make or break we’ve ever been and that’s not hyperbole.

      * 22 R & 13 D are up, there’s a chance to flip a handful to get the majority
      * who tf knows with the house with all the gerrymandering on both sides but show up and show out to get some of those congressional districts to be blue

Did the give him back the wifi code? He saw the blue wave coming but not everything else.

    15. Oh he actually saw this. Surprised he wasn’t up all night getting railed in the exhaust pipe while he watched Rocky Horror

    16. Like John Lennon once sang, “whatever gets you through the night,” you fucking shitweasel.

“Well I’ve been busy working and didnt know anything about that but will get back to you later” – head ass.
