As much as Lincoln has the deserved respect for being one of the best POTUS, it’s also clear 150 years later that clemency for the South was a mistake because they never got over it and the current trouble in the US is still the same old issue that has never left (racism, poor education, “states rights” etc.).

As much as Lincoln has the deserved respect for being one of the best POTUS, it’s also clear 150 years later that clemency for the South was a mistake because they never got over it and the current trouble in the US is still the same old issue that has never left (racism, poor education, “states rights” etc.).
