    1. “If this one stranger doesn’t agree with my politics, then their entire fucking demographic should lose all of their rights.”

The modern day republican party, folks.

    2. lol not trying to name-drop Plato. Dude died in 348 BC. Definitely the forward thinking we need these days /s

You know the term “platonic friendship” stemmed from the fact that Plato himself was a virgin. Perhaps even the original incel.

    4. Dude called himself Boccaccio, the author of De Mulieribus claris, the first opera dedicated to a collection of women biographies in western literature, in the 14th century, and then post this shit.

Has this dude ever even talked to a woman? That wasn’t being held against their will? Or paid for?

      Didn’t think so

    6. I seriously don’t understand where the arrogance comes from. In all honesty, Mamdani’s message is the pure expression of democracy in the sense that his policies address the interests of the general public.

Trump, in comparison, campaigned yelling about the price of eggs while ruining the economy with his tariffs. Nothing he did ever benefitted the regular folk, just billionaires.

    7. Hey all so I was pretty sure this is bullshit so I did what any somewhat intelligent human does and I went to Google:

*Question: “Did Plato think women shouldnt be allowed to vote?”*

      Answer:

***Plato believed that women should have equal opportunities to participate in the ruling of his ideal city-state, including holding the highest political offices. However, this was not based on the modern idea of universal suffrage but on his belief that only the most educated and virtuous should rule, and he argued that women were just as capable of achieving this wisdom as men. Therefore, in his ideal state, the right to participate in government, including voting, was limited to a select group of “guardians” or “philosopher-kings,” and women were eligible for this group.***

These people really don’t know anything

    8. Plato also called us “Featherless Bipeds” and believed we were essentially birds, but go off.

    9. You might be surprised to learn, dear reader, that Plato did not in fact talk about this.

    10. Plato also spoke about women’s wandering uterii. So, who cares?

Maybe men shouldn’t be allowed to vote.* They start too many wars.

      *s in case.

“Women shouldn’t be allowed to vote because they won’t vote for sexual predators.”

It’s so funny to me that they lose their minds about any woman supporting Zohran when the numbers show statistically the most likely demographic to vote for Zohran is white men. Like they crash out about women supporting him but really they should be mad at their fellow white guys who want to be able to afford to live in NYC.

      Define irony

A reactionary fascist uses a **literally ancient figure** to support a claim that women are not worth rights, when 70% of today’s teachers are (and case in point 70% of HIS teachers were) women.

These people have turned being an internet troll into a political party and it is beyond me how they function as normal people.

Ah yes, let’s base all our beliefs on an ancient guy who wiped his ass with his hand and didn’t know what bacteria was

    15. Plato was a massive advocate of equal rights for women. His reference to weak/non-elite class women also applied to men who didn’t meet the elite social stature, it wasn’t exclusive to women.

    16. I am sure that we have all known men who thought that they were superior to women becasue they were men.

And we all know what kind of men these were.

    17. How on earth do you reach for a classical philosopher to buttress your opinion and grab *the only* wrong one?! (Plato thought women could be literal philosopher-kings!)

    18. Additional-North-683 on

Pluto was also a pathetic guy who defended the Sham trial of his teacher, and was more than likely a pedophile

    19. Ya know, it’s really not surprising how many conservatives are closeted. They hate women soooo much

    20. The other day I saw someone advocating for repealing the 19th amendment because women voting caused prohibition and they used that to show how women don’t know anything. Guess what the 18th amendment is.

    21. Folks like this appeal to ancient authorities like we didn’t have an enlightenment and scientific revolution demonstrating that relying on 2000 year old opinions isn’t the best idea.
