New Housing Completions – Ireland [OC]

    1. For comparison, Ireland’s population is up by more than 1 million since building rates fell off a cliff in 2008. Although the first few years after the housing crash had a healthy mopping-up of the excess building in the early 2000s, since then building has badly lagged the sheer need for new supply.

    2. In Co Clare they have been happy to stuff in as many asylum seekers that they possibly could since Covid, granted Ukrainians never asked to be there but for every Ukrainian that’s moved on, that space has been filled with someone from an entirely different country.

      It’s a perfect storm.
