The France first banned slavery during the revolution in 1794, only for Napoleon to bring it back in 1802. Slavery was then banned again during the 1848 revolution.
Also I'm sure theres been other countries that have banned slavery multiple times, I just couldn't figure out another way to phrase the meme less awkwardly.

    1. Few Napoleon fans realize bro brought back slavery. Like he got his brother in law and an entire army killed just for sugar

Not to mention one of his General is famous for making a rudimentary gas chamber to butcher Haitian civilians. There are also accounts of him feeding children to dogs and burning folks at the stake

All of this done with permission and approval from the Emperor himself

I don’t think you can be proud of it. When you brought it back 9 years later.

Edit: No one got my Detentionaire reffreance

    3. France: in the future, few people will remember how much of a jerk I was because they will be obsessed with blaming the USA for everything

Seriously, when Burkina Faso launched a coupe against its pro France leader too many commentators never even mentioned France while pretending to be experts about that country
