Venezuela has always had a lot of oil. Obama could have taken us to war over it but didn’t. The same is true with Biden. If Harris had been elected we wouldn’t be going to war either.
The Republican donor base is full of oil billionaires that think the US military is a mercenary force for their use. That’s one reason “conservative” causes are flush with mega bucks. The oil barons pay for the GOP to gain access to these power projection “services.”
