This is an original photo including it being out of focus. According to the book "The Way of the White Clouds" the harsh conditions and difficult lighting made photography a challenge and the book is filled with how incredible cold and harsh the whole expedition was.

All of the contents in the temple where destroyed during the Chinese cultural revolution invasion of Tibet.
