If I recall correctly Russell Bliss was the guy who was paid to dispose of waste oil from a factory and then sprayed it all over the dirt roads in Times Beach to keep the dust down. I grew up a few miles from here and witnessed the whole process – from seeing the small town, to witnessing men in full-body hazmat suits walking around, to seeing the town abandoned, then demolished, then leveled. They took a few feet of topsoil and now it’s a park I think.
