Roman marble statue of two dogs, often referred to as “The Townley Greyhounds”. Dating to the 1st or 2nd century AD, depicts two sighthounds in a playful pose. It was discovered in 1774 at Monte Cagnolo, or “Dog Mountain,” near Civita Lavinia in the Lazio region of Italy. British Museum.[1284×1494]
