Thanks for the memories! I haven’t thought of this game in years (I am 46M now).

    2. Loved that game. I remember when you got to the higher levels your (or at least my) only hope was to take out the red guy with missiles until he took off and won the race, so I could finish second.

    3. That era when gaming felt pure. no internet, no updates, just you, the console, and endless determination to win

    4. I loved that game. I would play it until it got to the point where you simply could not win because the other cars would just go wildly faster than my fully upgraded car could go. So I would start over and play it again.

    5. I hated it because of it using an isometric perspective. Maybe if I was a little older when I played it and had more practice, I would’ve gotten use to it, but it kept throwing me off.

    6. Same. I remember I had some friends over for New Year’s Eve 1988-1989 waiting for the ball to drop on TV. We were so into the game that when we checked the time it was 12:07, played right through the new year

A weird trick I learned back then – applicable ONLY to this game: hold the controller upside down. I’m telling you, it worked ridic well

Loved this game. Easily spent hundreds of hours playing it with my brother, who is no longer with me. Thank you OP for bringing back some good memories. His birthday is on the 17th, and this really brought a smile to my face and some cheer to my usually heavy heart this time of year.

    9. I used the Power Glove and could absolutely crush people somehow.

Also, did everyone have that TV stand? We did. lol
