That one in the top right of the modern day pic is going to haunt my nightmares.

It really is all about pure racism and bigotry, as much as they and the media try to say otherwise. This is what it has always been about in America.

I’m in that age group too and I clearly remember seeing on TV the horrific vitriol spewed at those poor children and that image has remained bright and clear in my brain all these years….which TRULY isn’t so very long ago at all. MAGA has happily rekindled the smoldering ashes of these fiery times so we get to relive them once again. This makes America Great…???

Been saying this for years. I have poll tax receipts from the early 60’s. It was not that long ago.

Yep. I have some family in Georgia that are big-time MAGA cultists and they’re in this age range, and would *ABSOLUTELY* fit right in both of those photos…. it’s sad and disgusting, and I’m not sad at all that I cut ties with that part of my family years ago.

These people are part of the reason we need age maximums on those who can hold office. I don’t want someone who was old enough to protest desegregation to make laws about voting rights in 2025. Their bias is evident. We live in different times, and they are holding us back.

President Lyndon Johnson once said, “If you can convince the lowest white man he’s better than the best colored man, you can pick his pocket. Hell, give them somebody to look down on, and they’ll empty their pockets for you…”
Half look like they’ve been treated for rigor mortis

If you were born in 1949 you would be 76 years old. Must be an old meme!

People can change. I used to think Fords were garbage. Now I drive a Ranger.

Another era, but not comfortably distant. People who are now 69 would have been born around 1956 and would have been too young to be HS students in 1963. People born in 1945 would be around 80 today.

That means the people they were screaming at have grandkids who are now learning about their grandparents being screamed at. All for wanting to just go to school.

Those women are from the Word Of Faith Fellowship in Western NC. A literal religious cult. Look it up. A good friend of mine dedicated a season of his podcast to covering them, look up Pretend if you’re interested.

I was born in 1956 and I just turned 69.
The youngest in this group would be 76 and the oldest would be 79.
