You know … tacos, pizza, curries, chinese food, sushi, … all that stuff introduced by multiple generations of immigrants that built the country. Will the new national diet plan be based on a reissue of a 1950s Betty Crocker cookbook (suitably purged of foreign influences, of course)?

We are a country founded by immigrants. Not just one type several. The foundation was mostly European and African but since we’ve welcomed Asian, South American, and every other continent that wanted in. The idea that there is a distinct AMERICAN culture is laughable. We have no culture.

I work in a field where the majority of my coworkers have been immigrants for the past 20 years.
Guess what? I still have my culture. It didn’t disintegrate when I was surrounded by people who don’t celebrate the same holidays as me. It even somehow stayed intact even through the trauma of “eating some mooncakes that someone brought in” and “going to an kickass Indian restaurant for lunch”
