    1. It was fermenting which produced gases and had nowhere to go. So it exploded! Enjoy your booze melon! (don’t actually do that)

    2. Even though you buy watermelons at the store just sitting out in the produce section they should be refridgerated.

    3. You’re so freaking lucky. I had a rotten watermelon implode on my table. The smell was there for months. Absolutely horrid.

    4. I wonder if this is like an evolutionary thing for seed dispersal?

      Are there enough sugars in wild melons for that?
