This is one of the consequences when you have a culture that doesn’t value giving birth to girls nearly as much as boys and has a large imbalance of men and women. China is bad.

Something i saw recently. Man from china can order a pakistany wife. There’s a network of matchmakers that introduce these women to clients. They come from families in poverty. They are at the very least 18, and on average, and for around 2kUSD, they can take her. But there’s a catch. The man becomes responsible for her family sustenance… what happens next? I have no idea.

Lots of women from Vietnam, North Korea, and other poor countries have been “sold” as brides to Chinese men as well.
Also, lots of Chinese women have been “sold” as brides by human traffickers. Anyone remember this:
