    1. It wasn’t until I saw the guy holding a head (second row from front / bottom) that I realized they’re all sitting or squatting.

    2. No luggage allowed, ropes were tied across the floor for them to hold on to.
It was mayhem and troops even left their weapons behind. Every single inch of space was used on those flights.

    3. I am so happy for the very few women and girls on there. How come it’s always majority men who manage to flee and leave their sisters to suffer?

Taliban regime is surely bad for everyone but there are levels in hell and the women are way worse off.

I was in Qatar at the time, it was wild seeing C-17s fly over the city every few hours, knowing they were absolutely packed with people. I knew some friends who volunteered at the US Airforce base to provide aid on their arrival

    5. I saw a transcript of the conversation between the pilot and the tower at the airport he was heading to.
when he told them how many people he had on board, the towers response was *mind blown*

    6. Afghanistan isnt bad for men, the real victims are the poor women.

I know Afghans that travel for long periods back, it is bliss for them. This is also why european countries dont give them refugee status anymore
