They are more or less the same age as me, and I remember totally crushing on them when I was in my teens. But now as a 40’ish year old I see this and, well…don’t feel much.
Then you read into the guy that (I think) was the producer for Spears and other youth groups back in the 90’s and early 00’s, he was a big player, and they totally did the sexualization + minor thing on purpose.
“Oh hey let’s get Spears in a skimpy high school uniform and have her dance around”.
They honestly look like a couple of dressed-up high schoolers (which they are). You could make the argument that their fame maybe stunted their development and their mental age was actually a lot younger than 18, too.

I was younger than them when they turned 18. The amount of older dudes that made thirsty ass comments about them when I was a teen is pretty disturbing looking back as an adult. I was attracted to them because I was a kid but those 40+ year olds are just fucking weirdos. Then I think how sexualized they were even before turning 18 and it makes my stomach turn.
