Is this total lifetime sales? I know I can check from the data source but the graph doesn’t make it clear what’s even shown.

What is an “action” video game? What games have no action?

What year? What source? Does it include steam?

I swear none of the data is beautiful in this sub

That data looks very sketch. Over how long? What consoles? What set of titles? The linked dataset doesn’t even seem to have PC as a platform.

Definitely a gross misrepresentation of the data. The fact that it shows PC as such a tiny fraction of Console should have been an immediate clue of that.Â
For instance, GTA 5 has sold 30 million copies on Steam, but the PC version is not on the list at all. Also pretty skeptical of the dataset in general, which only shows WoW with ~6 million sales, even though it had active players over 10 million back when you still had to purchase the game.Â

A grade 7 kid who just learned Excel could have made a better looking graph than this

This data makes no sense. PC game sales have been 30-50% of the market share for decades.
