    1. GOOD!! wish all states would.
but a lot of people just don’t know how damaging it is. it’s exactly like taking off the tip of a hoo-man’s finger at the first knuckle. with shears. and THEN stitching them up. and some vets didn’t use anaesthetic.

would like to see more of this. mutilating an animal and fucking it up both physically and psychologically for your convenience should not be allowed.

    3. I have had cats my whole life and only had one declawed. She was returned twice by two familes that said no matter what they did, she would not stop clawing everything. I figured they were wrong but indeed with scratching posts, pads, etc. in every room, she just preferred the chairs and sofa. I think her destiny would have been to be euthanized if she can’t be adopted, so we made the decision to declaw her. 8 years later she is still here and living her best life. First cat I haven’t been able to get to claw the stuff we got her. I do believe though that the majority of people who declaw their cats simply don’t want to deal with the hassle of working with them to not claw. Or… there are those people who simply have all their furniture destroyed and that’s just part of the joy of having those cats.

    4. I hope more states stop this procedure. I tried to convince my brother to not do this to his cat. He did it anyways saying it does not hurt them. I’ve never forgiven him and he refused to listen or read about it. Only a ban will stop stupid people including my brother and dumb wife.

Good. Declawing a cat is cruelty in the extreme

Hold up your hand. See that first knuckle behind the nail? That’s what they amputate in a declawing procedure.

Call me crazy, but my cat loves it when I clip his nails. It’s just part of his routine. I do it about once a month and he doesn’t seem to mind. I’m pretty conservative with it and probably leave them too long… but my thought is that if the old boy gets out he’s not super defenseless for too long.

    7. Good. It’s literally same as cutting the first joint of fingers. People should buy scratchers, cut their cat’s nails properly or have some kind of claw cap if they were worried about scratches.

It’s interesting how wild-house cats have essentially destroyed significant parts of the Earths wild ecosystem, but people can’t really agree on anything to do to mitigate it. RIP small animals.

      Good.

For those non cat owners there’s a difference between trimming nails and Declawing.

    10. Good. Declawing sounds fine until you find out they are cutting off kitty’s fingers to declaw it “I though they just made them quit growing somehow.”. Then you remember how much claws are part of being a cat. It should have been banned long ago.

Good! This is a cruel practice that should be banned nationwide. Cat scratches feel amazing anyway.
