    1. Every thread eventually turns into a holy war between people who claim they don’t believe in holy wars.

    2. Hold on, isn’t atheism about not having any religion in particular and antitheism about disliking the idea of religion?

    3. Whether God exists or not, the main message of Christianity is simple: love your neighbor as yourself *.* That’s what Jesus preached, and it’s really all of us need to remember.

    4. I can absolutely tell the abrahamic version of god doesn’t exist. Can I tell if the universe is actually sentient, and therefore is god? No.
      Do I care? Also no

    5. Hell, ask reddit ‘what’s the best method to boil eggs’ and people will be at each other’s throat. Online anything isn’t a litmus test for the people they ‘represent’

    6. I’m agnostic-atheist. I don’t believe in any deities but I also know I don’t know.

Mix of Secular and Agnostic for me. I don’t give a shit if god exists or not, but i also can’t prove if he exists or not. Those two are very closely related for me

Meme makers: “I don’t know what most of these words mean but will make a meme using them”

    9. I believe in JRPGs where a group of schoolchildren or teenagers with supid giant weapons, set out to rescue the cat and their final mission is to kill God.

What do you call a person who believes that someone created the universe, but doesn’t think it was an otherworldly being like God is portrayed?

    11. I person dislike religion for everything it stands for and brings, but I don’t personally have a problem with believers, as long as they don’t impose their beliefs on others. I understand some people appreciate the relief that comes from believing in a superior entity that governs all, and I respect that.

I don’t care if there is a God or many Gods, but I also know we can’t prove it. Not yet, anyways. And I live in peace with that.

    12. It’s a very interesting phenomenon that all over the globe many people don’t understand what secularism is. it is definetly not that shown in this meme. but its a meme overall isn’t it 🙂

    13. I’m an atheist and not an agnostic because I do think an absence of evidence is evidence of absence. I generally don’t believe things exist without evidence. Things can and do exist without prior knowledge, but it’s illogical to assume something exists without any reason to think that.

    14. Nah. If there is a god, he’s an asshole who hates me.

I said that straight to a very Christian person’s face and you would have thought I kicked her puppy.

    15. Not only is this not what atheism is, but atheists are also communists for some reason? Damn.

    16. I’m definitely not into religion, but the fact that one can fart away stomach pain has me thinking that God does have mercy.

So true redditors won’t stfu about how atheist they are, like we get it but stfu.

This is funny how it’s the wrong definition for the first three. So many peoples get this wrong.

Atheism is the absence of belief. You don’t believe in the existence neither the inexistance. You don’t have belief on the matter.

Agnostism is incuded inside atheism. This is the position that considers itself rational on the subject (that is to say, matching one’s beliefs to one’s knowledge). To consider that humanity has neither proof of the existence of gods, nor proof of the non-existence of gods. In the absence of knowledge, the atheist position is then the most rational. This is the idea of agnosticism.

Obviously both are wrong since we have indisputable proof of the non-existence of a theistic god. For a deistic god, by definition, the question of existence is futile.

But yeah, the definitions used in the meme where historically made up by proselytizers who used a kind of straw man. It’s been many decades now, would be nice to stop using misleading definitions.

    19. I think the reddit atheist stereotype exists because its mostly people who broke or are breaking away and either need to either go about it in a performative way like a teenager breaking away from their parents, or they genuinely had bad experiences with friends/family finding out they’re atheist so its a sore topic. I try to avoid bringing it up irl mostly because some people do get really weird about it.

    20. Am I supposed to NOT rejoice in the fact that a bloodthirsty, slavery-loving deity no longer has power over me?
