Highly recommend anyone who is curious should seek out her Switched On Bach albums.

One thing I would LOVE to find an original pressing of is her Peter and the Wolf with Weird Al.

If you haven’t yet watched Adult Swim’s **”Live at the Necropolis: Lords of Synth”** , you need to. ASAP.
It will possibly be the best 11 minutes of your life.

When I was a kid, I bought the “Switched on Bach” album by Walter Carlos. Still have it. Then, when CDs came along, I again bought “Switched on Bach” by Wendy Carlos. A neat example of how things change.

Carlos is a Titan of electronic music, and it’s hard to overstate the importance of the Switched-On records, not just in the development and popularization of electronic music, but in the development of electronic musical instruments themselves, all of which we take for granted nowadays.
Those records are marvels of technical and artistic achievement, so it’s a real shame that they are all but impossible to listen to these days. They aren’t available on streaming services, new CDs are no longer made, and any YouTube uploads of the recordings are immediately taken down. The only way I was able to listen to these was by purchasing a rather expensive box set of CDs on eBay. I’m so glad I did that, but the reality is that 99 percent of interested listeners will not be able to experience these recordings. I hope that will change in the future.

I dissed her Tron soundtrack today by saying that Daft Punk’s for the sequel is better. But at the same time, it’s miles ahead of NIN effort for Tron Ares.
