If it was too loose or too tight, it would create penile problems for the astronauts and it could even leak and there would be urine all over the space station and the space suit. So these caps were in three sizes, Small Medium and Large arge. But all men, regardless of the actual size of their penis, were picking large and this was causing urine to all over the space suit and the space station. Correctly guessing this was an ego issue, one guy suggested renaming the sizes to Large, Gigantic and Humongous. And just like that, the problem went away.

Talking as a scientist, they probably measured every tissue and bone of astronauts let alone dicks. That kind of data is priceless.
