I’m certain even the birds envied her sound. She was so beautiful. Maya looks just like her!

I think her vocal range was known as “whistle soprano.” Pretty wild.

OH I remember when this came out (yes I’m old) and I hated it as did most of my friends/classmates. Main reason was the school choir director encouraged members to try it. My ears hurt just thinking about it

Hitting that note is crazy. But hitting that note and making it look effortless is a whole other level.

Whistle tones. It’s also what Mariah Carey is doing when she goes up high. Some dudes can do it too.

I’m 60 I saw this when it first aired. Actually made me feel a little funny. So happy to grow up in the 70s and all the great music.

That’s incredible! I think I got pretty close to that note when I was 10 years old and my older brother kicked me in the balls.

I can make a very high pitched noise by inspiring and turning my throat into a sort of reversed whistle. It’s not singing though.

Favorite SouthPark ever
Unless I’m mistaken, the highest note Mariah hit on her song Emotions was a G7…and then [she went above that](https://youtube.com/shorts/85C7y2_plc8?si=_pOetmpB8Y-dmFLD) during a live performance of the song.

Wow. It actually matched my tinnitus.
God I love this song, and this performance.
Thanks for Bridesmaids!!
My toxic trait is thinking I could do that too…
Pfft, I could do that.
