Even if I agree with you there were some soviet republics that actually alligned with the nazis during the invasion, regional leaders and sympathizers of the Germans (not necesarely because of ideology but moreso about same interest against the Soviet Union, kinda like Finland)

I’m against the tankies rethoric and all of their ‘muh revisionism’ everytime someone say something bad about the URSS or their beloved daddy Stalin but at the same time I’m starting to detect a weird pattern when we talk about soviet history.

If we are talking about the worst, it’s about how evil the Russians are and how the imperialism is in their nature.

If we are talking about the best, it’s about how the Soviet Union were a group of republics and hence they all contributed for the good and the Russians are trying to seize those merits.

Russia didn’t won the war, neither did the URSS, but the coordinated efforts of the allies powers and the partisan movements along all of Europe against the fascism… but at the same time the fact that I see a lot of memes and comments in reddit and other english dominated spaces (i’m from Spain for the record) is making me start to raise my eyebrow.

The same people that say that Ukraine allied itself with Nazi’s forget that 30% of the red Army consisted of Ukranians. Also the guy holding the Soviet Flag over the Reichstag was Ukranian.
