Federal expenditure on healthcare over the same period would have been about 150 times (not an exaggeration) this amount. The problem with US healthcare is systemic, not budgetary.

For why, I’m neither Jewish nor am I Israeli?! Seems to me it’s long past time that Israel pulls themselves up by their bootstraps, no?

DoD cannot pass an audit( $850B), and oil/gas ($35B) and big pharma get billions in subsidies despite posting huge profits year over year.

You do realize that money has to be spent on US products, so America is injecting capital in itself fueling the economy while making sure our military inventory stays up to date and manufacturing stays current

So now we care about what we are spending our money on? I don’t recall seeing anyone complaining in facepalm when it was under the last president 🤦♂️

The main problem is, that’s not America’s war. And all this tax payers dollar is funding a war against mostly innocent people. When that money could’ve been spent to fix issues at home.

Community health centers in the united states get about 5.7 billion a year for the entire country and see millions of patients. What could be done if we gave them 21 billion over 2 years for rural and at risk Americans

Doesn’t Israel have universal healthcare?

Understand how things work.
Healthy people who barely have to spend a dime to stay healthy are not good for creating value for investors. People forced into financial ruin because they fractured a bone are.
Defense contractors cannot make more money if Israel doesn’t use the weapons it already has. Be it Israel purchasing weapons from these contractors, or the US sending it to them, the contractors make money both ways. But if the bombs stop dropping, then more weapons cannot be sold, and the share prices go down.
The American right-wing insists that this is how things must be. American liberals also insist that this is how things must be. CNN/Fox both agree that this is how things must be.

Medicare for all would be 3.2 trillion dollars per year in additional healthcare spending by the feds.
So completely ending all military support to Israel over two years would fund .68% of Medicare for all for a single year.

Don’t forget the $20 billion Trump just gave to Argentina, and then Argentina is selling soybeans to China., competing against American farmers. So much winning!!!

It’s important that I should double my health insurance payments so that Israel can have universal health care. Israel first, by all means.

Oddly enough OP, this kind of propaganda only helps those opposed to universal healthcare, since it implies that it would be more expensive than what we have now.
It also woefully underestimates the cost of healthcare.

Doesn’t mention old or new stock, or what the military items would of went to instead. Not disagreeing but 2.1 billion in (possibly) outdated military tech isn’t a reliable statistic to compare to funding healthcare if it wasn’t made to give to them.

There’s lots of room to criticize US aid to Israel, but let’s keep things in perspective.
$21.7 billion in military aid to Israel over two years.
$7.3 trillion in government spending on healthcare the last two years.
This is the part where somebody downvotes me because stating facts and giving context is bad, I guess.
