I saw a lady at the gym use something like this, and I thought she was going really fast. Turns out, not.

Replace the handles with small shake weights and you’ve got fitness gold.

It’s for people like me who would benefit from high cardio like jumping rope, but have the coordination of a baby deer with 2.5 legs.

The balls are weighted so it adds resistance, also reduces noise and wear and tear on your floor and if you’re not very coordinated to jump rope without tripping you get the cardio benefit without needing the coordination. But sure “how dumb”

I don’t know if people here are wondering why but the two main reasons are:
1. You can’t fail but still get the exercise of a jump rope
2. It works with low ceilings and doesn’t need as much space in general when jumping (good for small apartments or areas like gyms where many people walk around that you don’t wanna hit with your rope)
Now some people will say “you could just hop without anything” but go ahead and you will see that it feels very different jumping with a rope and without. This product tries to simulate that feeling of having a rope.

Missed opportunity to market as “wireless jump rope”

Most of the time when you see an item like this, it’s an accessibility item that has finally found a way to make more money by marketing to the general public. Pre-sliced tomatoes at the grocery, shoes that put your socks on for you, 2 in 1 strainer pots, etc.
If your immediate reaction is to hate whoever made it and whoever buys it, stop and think for a moment what disability it could assist.

It’s awesome because I can’t trip myself up. Maybe I should say I’ve hurt my back and when my leg gets tired, it doesn’t like to lift, so this would be a godsend.

These are really good for practicing jump rope honestly. You can practice getting the motion down without having to stop every 3 fucking times lol

if you find this interesting, then maybe it’s time to start exercising because you clearly haven‘t done that in your life yet.

How much for a two pack so we can double dutch together

Reminds me that I had a Skip-It as a kid because it was easier to find space to use that instead of a hula hoop.
(The ropeless jump ropes can be helpful when you have limited space, like low ceilings. They’re reportedly good for cardio.)

They’re pretty common in rehab and for older people whose joints, reflexes and coordination are slipping.
