WTF? That’s a DEATH trap!

Seems extremely counterintuitive and potentially deadly for those just passing through with no prior knowledge of how this crossing is set up.

Alright so when there’s no train there’s barricades there and, when there’s no barricades there, there’s a train. So…when do you go through?

If you’re ever in this situation, look to your right or left and find the crossing control box. It will have a phone number to call to report a faulty crossing. My family was in this exact situation, with two tracks and everything, when I was a child and only avoided being smashed by a train because my parents were extremely cautious around rail crossings and creeped up once the arms went up and saw the train before it barreled through the car.

It also closes when there aren’t any trains, so its less hazardous than you might think at first. Locals call it, “the goomba”

Hey just so everyone here knows, if you are ever on the wrong side of one of those little barricade arms, you can drive right the fuck through it. They can send you a bill or whatever if it bothers them so much.
I’ve just seen a person in a car literally get hit by a train because they thought they were trapped in there. Those shits are like cardboard. Drive through it.

My driving instructor taught me once, that the railroad crossing sign also means, the train has always the right of way and you have to wait – without, with or with malfunctioning barricades.
