I’m currently trying to make graphs of every topic on Jeopardy, and this time I did a couple for golf. I read every clue about every golfer I could find. This is the list of golfers who were mentioned more than once and won a Major (so Chi Chi Rodriguez, who was been a clue several times, is not in these graphs). I used the color scheme from the LPGA logo to pick the blue, yellow, and green seen here. The pictures are all from the PGA/LPGA websites, except for the old Black and White ones. The data is from J-Archive and I made the graphics in Affinity. Let me know if there is anything in the graphs that I can explain better.
Jeopardy has about 30 golf clues per season, which is about 1/500 clues. I looked at two online trivia leagues to see what their archives have on golf. LearnedLeague has a similar rate as Jeopardy, while Online Quiz League is twice as often. Both have quite a few questions about famous golf course locations, while OQL seems to love Nelly Korda and Babe Didrikson Zaharias, with three questions about each of them. Each of these archives, including J-Archive had a variety of clues about golf equipment and parts of the course, but it was such a wide selection I didn’t make a graph for those.
