All of that is fine and true, as far as it goes.
The problem is that the ‘president’ and Hegseth don’t want noble warrior philosophers, or academic soldiers.
They are too stupid, petty, and childish for that.
They want mindless brutes and immoral goons, and will work to remove anyone that doesn’t share their primitive vision.
It’s also a sad truth that MAGA isn’t sophisticated enough to understand what was being said here, and will side with the petulant children currently ‘in charge’.
Unfortunately, the lunatics are running the asylum now, and literally everyone is in very real danger.
