Out of the top 30 100m race sprint times, only 9 were run by athletes not associated with doping. ALL 9 are Usain Bolt. And Top 3 are by him too.

There are nine people named Usain Bolt and they are the top non-doping sprinters?

If that’s not what is being said here, then the remaining 21 could be split over just a couple of dope fiends.

They are all on drugs. You cannot compete to that level and win if the opponents are on drugs. All cyclists are on drugs as well, of course.

Drugs make an insane difference, but the runners are also insanely gifted and hard working. Taking drugs for a sport is an extra challenge you take on, it does not make it easier. You put your health on the line.

Again, they are still insanely gifted. Random joe could take as many and they won’t matter.

    3. I feel like I’m nitpicking but the Beijing run he had I feel could have shaved a few micro seconds off if he didn’t strut at the end

    4. Top 75 includes a Kenyan (x2) and one Italian. The rest are Jamaican & Americans. The Kenyan has faced doping issues. The Italian’s story involves a fake doctor and is more than a little nuts.

Saw a sports documentary once. Sports guy on it said. If you ain’t doping you ain’t competing.

    6. Before the Brazil Olympics, footballer Pele said of Bolt ; “He must believe in himself and trust in God, because he’s born for this.”

    7. How is it the country known for smoking pot and reggae consistently produces the fastest people on earth?

And he wasn’t even trying his hardest. He was usually looking at the other sprinters and smiling!

First, I just find it hard to believe the allegation that he doped considering there is absolutely zero evidence suggesting that he did. I mean, think about the runners associated with the other Top 30 times. Many of them got caught (although, see side note).

Like, yes, there were ways to dope that could avoid detection, but Usain Bolt is (1) probably one of the most heavily tested runners ever (once he hit the international scene, anyway), and (2) would have had to have been doing something that no one else who was in his class was doing, and it just so happened that it was the one thing that avoided detection. Occam’s razor: Usain Bolt didn’t dope.

One other note about Usain Bolt. He figured out the mental game better than almost any athlete we’ve ever seen. This is not merely a game of athleticism. The total package of Usain Bolt is the super human athlete that we rarely ever get to see. Several sports (but not all) have examples of the *one* person who is substantially above all others without cheating. Phelps in swimming, Serena in tennis, Simone in gymnastics, Ali in boxing…and that’s about it. Jordan’s greatness was in his will to win more than his athleticism. Guys like LeBron, Messi, Brady, are known more for their ability to improve the players around them and for their craftiness more than their athleticism. It’s just a different marker in team sports.

Side note, the statistic is wrong: as far as I know, there’s no real evidence or substantial accusation that Kishane Thompson, Trayvon Bromell, or Oblique Seville have ever doped.
