and that’s how Ronald Reagan finally defeated the then President of Puerto Rico

    2. I thought they stopped with these big guns, I thought the 12 inches were the big ones anyway, but the Navy went more towards smaller frigates away from the big battleships after World War II I had read.

Those big guns get torn apart by the forces very quickly too you do not get that many shots out of not get that many shots out of the Barrel.

    3. And I thought releasing my 4in gun during the Battle of the Bowl every morning was a powerful display

In modern times are the guided missiles more effective than the large rounds these ships fired?

    6. Crazy to think this ship is now a museum you can walk on. My grandpa served on one of these… he said the whole ship shook with every shot.

    7. They should put these back in service, those 16 inch guns are far cheaper than launching rockets, but the Iowa class battleships were the first to get Tomahawks, so they got missiles too.

If you want bargain basement destruction, you want the Iowa class.
