Your dad is a hip hop legend full stop, no need to specify “80s”! This is awesome, thanks for sharing.

      Heeeeeeeeeeeeey now!

      I love Paid in Full!

Glad to meet the son of a legend here!

    6. Legend for sure. That’s really cool.

If you feel like answering. What do you do for a living?

    7. I grew up listening to your pops and Rakim on cassette which I wore out so you can’t read the tracks. Awesome post!

Holy fuck, finally a post that is definitively and completely cool on this sub. Eric B. Is a fucking deity. This is so awesome.

    9. I grew up in Jersey and was actually visiting Harlem in ’87 with my pops, and came across your pops and The God Emcee filming ‘I Ain’t No Joke’. Crazy how 9 year old me still remembers that day! Peace to you and your pops.

Microphone Fiend is one of the greatest tracks in the history of rap music. Simply perfect. Total respect and appreciation to your pops.

    11. “Paid in Full” is on the soundtrack of my life!

I hope you find as much happiness as your dad has given me!

    12. Aaaw… these are great. What a legend. Thanks for sharing! Real old school cool right here. 🏆

    13. How has it been being the son of a legend? Does it, it any way, put any pressure on you? Or has it been a blessed life?

I don’t mean to put it on two extremes, that’s just how my mind comprehends your situation, if it’s something completely different I’d appreciate you taking the time to talk about your experience.

    14. Seriously man, respect to your pops and Rakim. I got nothing to add that won’t be said 100 times in this post. I’m sure your pops knows he’s respected and loved, and will always be by those who know.

    15. If I’ve gone more than 24 hours without hearing one of your dad’s beats..it’s been too long . This in the last 30 years or so
