    1. “Yes, Hawkeye, but Hell is eternal suffering and isolation from God. It is the greatest tragedy. War though horrible is temporary.”

A priest like Father Mulchaey, would have known how to respond to his point.

Any of those actors, movie writers were at real war?
Because guys who trapped in trenches says it IS hell, so who are more reliable source?

    3. This isn’t a war, it’s a murder!

      This isn’t a war, it’s a moider!

    4. Found out about MASH via this quote. Started watching it with the wife about 2 months ago. Finally hit this episode yesterday. Worthwhile.

    5. The callousness of this theological response aside, it’s also just wrong. Innocents suffering greatly, even temporarily, is significantly worse than deserved suffering for eternity. It’s the reason why undeserved suffering forms the basis of many versions of the problem of evil- which has spawned a million theodices to try and combat it. Meanwhile justified punishment for sins has not generated nearly as much philosophical threat to religion.

    6. Watched MASH as a kid, rewatching on Hulu as we speak. Great show, full of comedy and good moral lessons.

I had to laugh when the first episode came on it begins by saying “KOREA, 1950, 100 Years ago,” as a joke, because when it aired it was probably like 25 years later…It was then I realized 1950 was actually 75 years ago from now.

Was the highlight of the viewing week when I was a kid.

I was a huge fan and remember being absolutely stoked when we went on holiday to Canada and I found a shop selling an army green MASH t-shirt with the logo and the twin serpent sceptre medical logo on it.
