“My khagan, the christians will attack us if we become muslim but the muslims will attack us if we become christian!”

“…I have an idea. This will never backfire in a million years.”

Trivia: In Turkish we have that distinction of “Musevi” and “Yahudi”. The former refers to the belief, tha latter the ethnicity. “Jewish Turkic” would be a mismatch in Turkish/Turkic languages when translated because it would be “Yahudi Türkler” implying two seperate ethnicities. That is why we use “Musevi Türkler”, like Khazars, Karaims etc. Implying ethnic Turks/Turkics who follow a branch of Judaism.

Not the only one. Himyar, Semien, and the Hashmonids were all Jewish.

And before anybody mentions “major”, none of these kingdoms were significantly weaker than the original kingdoms of Judea and Israel, which were quite small.
