      You know you messed up big time in the Cold War if the USA and USSR agree in being against you

    3. The votes on the Cuba embargo are even more extreme.

      Its like every country in the world against except US and Israel.

      We oppose a Greater Israeli state, unless it’s an American backed Greatsr Israeli state, in which case we’re sort of OK with it.

    5. Is actually does make sense why Australia and New Zealand would support the UK and France in this context because of how important the Suez Canal was to trading with Britain which at that point was by far and away their biggest market.

      This was just one of the many events that lead Australia and New Zealand to seek new trade partners outside the commonwealth. Which perhaps unfortunately tied their economy to China.
