Let’s be real Americans stood by while this happened and didn’t do shit. Just like they’ve stayed at home and quietly accepted all of these other incursions into their democracy.

US citizens do overestimate their importance in the world.

Most of the rest of the world has better things to do than watch a comedian take on a clown.
At best, a passing interest in the decline and fall of the US empire.
