The reason why people are doing it is because for the last 40 years, every government that got voted in promised to reduce immigration but just didn’t. After leaving the EU (again a largely immigration driven vote) it drastically spiked and people lost trust in the traditional parties especially after Tory covid corruption and various two tier policing scandals. It’s people going for the only thing that is offering what they want even if it means having a worse leadership on other fronts.
